1. Arrange your public liability insurance with AMAS
Club members are required to arrange public liability insurance and register for national affiliation with AMAS (the Australian Miniature Aerosports Society) by visiting the AMAS website. On the application form you can nominate the current Sunset President and Secretary as proposer and seconder. Online payments are available.
AMAS provides members with a cost effective public liability insurance suited to aeromodelling activities, as well as providing our club training guidelines, administering our certificates of competency and representing the interests of radio control pilots and modelling clubs with the CASA (the Civil Aviation Safety Authority – the federal regulator of all aeronautical activities in Australia). You can find further information by visiting the AMAS Home page.
2. Arrange your Sunset Soaring Club membership
Select the appropriate membership type from the options on the Membership Prices page and press the “Join Now” button at the bottom. Enter your contact details on the registration form that is displayed and pay the indicated club membership renewal fee.
We support various secure online payment options via Stripe, including credit and debit cards as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. You can also arrange to pay offline via invoicing, but this is much more work for our busy Treasurer, so we prefer online payment!
After paying the fee you will receive an email from [email protected] requesting that you set a password for your account. It’s a good idea to add this email address to your Contacts/Address book so that the confirmation email does not end up in your SPAM folder.
Update your profile with your AMAS member number and Welcome letter
Once you have paid AMAS you will receive an email receipt and a PDF Welcome email from them. Using the email address and password you entered in step 2 above, login to the Sunset website again. Enter your new AMAS membership number (shown on the membership card) where indicated on your profile page, and use the upload link to upload your AMAS Welcome letter as proof of your insurance.
You will receive a Welcome letter from the club with a new membership badge and a receipt by email.
Membership is renewable by June 30 each year.
Bylaws and Code of Conduct
Note that as part of your renewal you will be required to confirm that you agree to abide by the current Club Bylaws and Code of Conduct.
If you have any questions please contact the club Secretary to obtain further information on the membership process.
